Download Help Q and A

~

1. How do I download?

You can download by clicking the link on each download page and choosing ‘Save Link As’ in Firefox or ‘Save Target As’ in InternetExplorer. The files will be packed inside ZIP files. (See #5 below.)

2. Where do I download the ZIP file on my computer?

You can download the file anywhere you like, just make sure that you remember the location where you saved it, and the name of the file. If you choose Desktop this will be easier for you to access the file as you follow the instructions on the PSP-Monkey website.

3. What will happen when I download the file?

Once the download starts, you will see a box pop up with a status bar, and a percentage that will climb to 100%.

4. What happens after I download?

After the download has completed, extract the files onto your desktop or other convenient place and read the instructions on the PSP-Monkey website for the particular action you are taking (downgrading or upgrading) before you do anything with the files. The instructions will tell you when and what to do.

5. What is a ZIP file?

A ZIP file contains compressed files that take up less space for faster downloading and keeps the files together in one pack.

You will need the WINZIP program to open the ZIP pack.
You probably already have WINZIP on your computer. If not, go to Download.com for a free 40-day trial that will enable you to open these files.

6. How to extract files from a ZIP file.

A. Find the ZIP (compressed) file you want to unzip (open up.)

B. Right click the file and then click "Extract Files Here" to extract the file(s) to your current directory (your desktop or wherever you saved the ZIP file when you downloaded it.)

C. If you want to put them somewhere else you can click "Extract Files" then choose where you want to put them or move them after you have extracted them.
