Brick – term used to describe a PSP that has been rendered useless by mistakes during downgrading/upgrading procedures, use of improper software, or failure of the power supply during such procedures. The PSP becomes a useless brick.
Downgrader - a piece of homebrew software that allows you to install a lower version of the PSP firmware than the version that is currently installed on it
HEN – (this is not a chicken) Abbreviation for Homebrew Enabler.
Homebrew - Non-Sony games or programs, coded or brewed at home.
ISO - image file (copy of game disc) copied to your computer
Plugin - PSP comes with standard features and capabilities, such as run games. A plugin is a small program that plugs into the main program and modifies it, adding functionality or extra features to your PSP.
UMD - Universal Media Disc- a PSP game disk or movie disk developed by Sony.
Upgrader - is a piece of homebrew software that allows you to install an official or homebrew custom higher version of PSP firmware.
VSH – another name for the main menu on the PSP. This is the name used internally by Sony software to describe the operating mode where the XMB is displayed.
XMB – stands for X Menu Bar, yet another name for the main menu on the PSP.
